As a registered nonprofit, Drexel Academy relies on grants, major gifts, and personal donations from Tulsa community members to provide a quality education for some of Tulsa’s most underserved children. As we look towards the end of another school year, Drexel Academy is again looking to the community to further expand educational opportunities by donating to help our institution obtain a cargo van. This new vehicle will allow us to transport students on local educational field trips.
We would like to highlight our Second Grade teacher Tamara Walker. Ms. Walker is fundamental in helping Drexel Academy mold the young minds that walk through our doors into great leaders and phenomenal students that want to pursue a lifelong passion for learning. Below you will find some answers to the questions we asked Ms. Walker to help parents meet her and get to know her more.
As another school year comes to a close, Drexel Academy is excited to open enrollment to prospective students for the 2021-2022 school year. Families interested in Preschool through 5th Grade placement for their child should read through our admissions process and submit an application so their children may be entered into our database.
Formed in late 2020, Boy Scout Troop 1921 was tailored for and composed of North Tulsa youths. The troop name is no mistake. It hearkens back to the adversity that generations of families have overcome since the Tulsa Race Massacre – one of the worst examples in United States history. Now the great-great-grandchildren of victims are now able to give back to the community and choose a different path that helps them become great leaders in an area where gang violence is prolific and a part of daily life.
